Thanked: 0Hello from Minnesota!!!
First of all I would like to say hi to everyone. Glad to join this great group of guys. I have always wanted to learn the ART of the straight shave. Never thought it was an option as I shave every day (military) and never thought I would have the time. I have been doing some research for about 2 weeks on what to buy, the do’s and don’ts and watching a lot of how to videos. I purchased a DOVO 5/8” Best Quality Full Hollow. Seems like a great razor. I did my first shave this morning. Might sound a little weird but was so excited to use it I got up an hour early just to try it out. Kind of hard to shave when you have a huge grin on your face the whole time. Only did my sideburns and cheeks. Worked great, no knick. I think I will stick with those areas till I feel more comfortable and steady with my left hand. Glad to have found this site with so much expertise. Take care ya’ll.

Greets!
Ex long time military guy here (Army and Navy). In the military we tend to think of shaving as a necessary chore. The joy of the straight shave comes from realizing we can turn that chore into a brief few moments of mind clearing self-indulgence.
Congrats on making the leap!
Mike!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.
