    Default Location, location, location

...as they say in real estate!

A tip and plea for all new (and current) forum brothers and sisters....if you would PLEASE put your location in your profile when you join (or if you've already joined, right now), it would be most helpful to those of us who may be looking to help you find a vendor/store in your area, recommend an on-line resource that ships to or is familiar with your area, identify people in your area who might help you, or who are just curious (nosy) about where everyone is from.

It only takes a second to add it when you register (or later by going to your profile) and looking at the "About me" tab on your profile. If you want to skip other things, fine, but location (city, state/province/region, country, etc) is REALLY helpful and interesting.

And conversely when giving advice, check the location given, telling Aussies to go to wall mart is sort of pointless

But yes I agree, the location field should be filled in. Some people don't want others to know where they are, but a very general location is good enough.

But ed, prices are so good, in general, at Walmart. That's why it's often mentioned.

But a return flight to America to shop there would make the opportunity to save a few dollars difficult.

So Ed, what would be the equivalent? Thanks Harold, this is something that should be a MUST for members. I know that the majority of "old hands" have their location in the profile but these new guys that want help but we can't find them makes it hard to offer any assistance except through the web.

To be honest I am not sure that there is. I have heard of Costco over east which is supposed to be a bit like wall mart.
My point was more that recommending shops that are in a different country is, whilst well meaning, also entirely useless.

Ed, it was basically a tongue in cheek type of question. I tend to check the location of new members to see if there is someone close by that can assist them and i would NEVER recommend the "Great Wall mart of China" for anything.
