Hello from Portland, Oregon
After 52 years of wet shaving with DE's and SE's, I shaved with a straight for the first time today. I participate in SOTD on two other forums, and just couldn't stand seeing such beautiful straights any longer without trying one. Although I only did one pass WTG, it went surprisingly well, without weepers or irritation. I'm thinking that shaving with a Streamline and a Cobra might have helped with blade angle and pressure, or rather lack of it. I've also gleaned a lot of initial information from this terrific forum, and looking forward to learning from such a knowledgeable group.

Welcome to a new part of the addiction. Glad to see another PNW member.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Welcome to SRP! Definitely +1 on nice to see another PNW Member! Our Clan is pretty large I think! Just to give you a heads up, there is a Meet coming up in Yakima, WA in May and you can check out the details here:
http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...et-yakima.html
... Meets are great ways to get together and learn first-hand and have an essentially captive audience to bounce ideas off and ask questions of.
There has also been discussion about a Seattle Area Meet and that link is here:

and here:

Best of luck in your Shave Journey and hope you continue to have a lot of fun as you are already bringing to the table a lot of skills from previous experience!
