Default Greetings from the deep south :)

A client / friend of mine peaked my interest in straight razor shaving a couple of weeks ago. Since I have a tendency to go whole hog on my hobbies so to speak, I have been lurking here ever since and scouring the net for info. I purchased a Dovo Best quality, Fromm / Illinois Strop, badger brush, and buffalo horn shaving bowl to start with. I then rabidly started watching Lynns videos, and during that process I ordered a full set of Norton stones, and sniped a couple of vintage barber hones, and a boker and 2 W.R. Case & Sons razors off of ebay. Since I have spent a lifetime honing knives, with the help of Lynn's video's I had honed all 3 of the vintage razors, and my new Dovo (shave ready ... really???) and now am really enjoying some nice close shaves and a new hobby. I should have my new Ralf Aust and Amish strop from SRD tomorrow so I think I will slack off a bit on the acquisition and enjoy these razors. My avatar is the razor case I made from red oak to accomodate my new hobby / addiction. Thanks much to Lynn for his helpful videos.

Hello and welcome. I wouldn't consider it hog wild until you reach about 20 razors. You have found the right place to learn and to share your experiences with the straight Razors.

Just wait until you discover Swedish and Japanese straights. It does sound like you are off to a solid start! Enjoy, it is a life changing experience and you control the volume.
