Thread: He shaved my legs... Now I'm addicted!

Shave and a haircut!! I love grooming days!! He wants me to shave his neck as practice... He's CRAZY and I'm nervous!!

Well I managed to shave his neck after cutting his hair without a drop of blood! Go me! I was quite nervous but I did it, next time will be easier (I hope)

I purchased my partner a nice DE safety razor and proper soaps. Now she locks herself in the bathroom for her shaving rituals. I can here her giggling, and she always emerges with a big smile and baby-soft legs. She's totally converted. Lately she's been eyeing my straight shavette. It's only a matter of time… Props to you and your guy. A truly healthy way to bond!

My wife uses my badger brush and soap's, so now I need to buy new soaps more frequently... the horror!

I don't know if we still have a ladies forum active here, but I think you'll find alot of willing help. I'm pretty sure Gerrit's Mrs., Wanda, uses a str8 also. They're lovely people, should you wish to connect to another lady shaver.

I only did the lovely bride's legs once so far. She LOVED it - and would prefer I all the barber duties. What I noticed was that the larger amount of area to cover - had its normal effect on an edge & I needed to re-sharpen the blade a bit. It somewhat highlighted the benefit of having a 2nd blade to use while another is out being refreshed. It sounds like Frank is coming along well on his own honing, but when he heads north, I'd be happy to refresh an edge, if needed. 'Same cost as his blades - nothing but postage & envelope.

You may enjoy exploring some of the post-shave treatments that further the smoothing and retain skin moisture. I've been using a makeshift cocktail of Lanolin, a little aloe & some of the Jergens shea butter lotion. I've been quite pleased with it & the Mrs loved it also.

Thank you so much for your offered help. I am certainly looking for fellow leg shavers to compare notes with because yes, soon I will be on my own for a few months! Frank is very patient and is teaching me slowly so I don't get overwhelmed. Since graduation my brain has all but shut off so it's been a challenge to learn this new and amazing skill. I much prefer to lay back and enjoy his pampering touch, but I know I have lots to learn before he goes so I have taken the razor some and plan my first solo shave soon. I still have to master stropping, which I haven't even attempted yet. I have lots to learn in this next month, but luckily I have an amazing teacher!

Thank you for offering to keep the SRs sharp for me while he is away, I know he plans to leave a couple out for me to use but I'm sure I will need a sharpening before his return.

Welcome, and what a fun Thread! I always wondered for Women, when first starting out SR Shaving, what area do you work as the most simple... Top of the thighs above the knees? For Guys it is just a few strokes down the sideburns.

Thank you for the welcome Shawn. My "easy spots" are my shins. I don't have a lot of hair growth on my thighs so that area is often overlooked and rarely shaved. So far I have managed the right side of my right shin, even the knee, and the right side to calf of my left leg (including knee)... Strange thing is I used to cut my knees a lot with my cartrage, but haven't yet with the SR. I've been using my BFs soaps (well ALL of his supplies from razor to scuttle) and I would like to find more feminine smells.

Shins!!! That would have been my second guess... Just such a weird, foreign thing for a Guy to reach down like that when considering shaving that it threw me off. How cool you are getting into this! My Wife of 25+ years won't even touch them when I ask her to help run my line under my beard... Won't even consider it and won't entertain the conversation of using them on her. ?? She still cuts herself regularly with cartridges as well and I think the difference with SR Shaving is you are "focused" big time! I keep hoping she will change her mind but not holding my breath.

For scents... Have you tried Cella? It is a good, quality Soap and has that 'Italian Almond' smell... I could see that working in a more feminine direction... Especially layered under a more musky feminine perfume after your shave.

Interesting Shannon. My wife took 2 inches of skin off her shin with a cartridge! No problems with any other leg parts.
