Default Greetings from the NC coast

Hey guys, I'm just a fireman from Bladen county NC. God put me here to help people so thats what I do, its my job. Im a Fireman and EMT for New Hanover County Fire Rescue. Shortly after graduating high school I decided my granddads were a lot cooler than my friends ever would be. So thats when I set a goal, to become a real man. I always had a job but I learned what it meant to "work", I learned how to build things, I learned that an axe is not outdated, and I traded in video games for craftsmen tools. But next was shaving, my beard was getting thicker and it seemed razors were getting worse. I have tried Gillete, Schick, and Bic as I am sure all of you have and had my hair ripped out not shaven. So finally I picked up my grandfathers safety razor, he left it to me when he passed away along with a rifle. All I knew about it was that on December 7th 1941 that razor was in Pearl Harbor and that was good enough for me. After about a year and a half of using it I am happier than ever but thats not where this story ends. On fathers day this year I had to work at the firehouse so I gave my remaining granddad a call. He asked me to swing by to see him the next day so thats exactly what I did. When I got to his house he handed me a Boker straight blade, it was his dads. Now I am in pursuit of a new hobby and I hope you guys are here to help. I look forward to meeting you all in the future. Feel free to check out my razor here and give any input. I would love to learn more about it.

Hi and welcome. We are definatly here to help. That is a wonderful razor and it looks to only have light wear. Get it honed and you would have no problem shaving with that razor. Checkout the library for all the starter info and any questions just fire away. Good luck.

eddy79 and nipper nailed it. Study the "Library" tab contents, ask questions when you're stuck, and most importantly, remember: straight shaving is "Me Time"! You'll soon learn that shaving can be a pleasure one looks forward to...not a chore.

    Welcome!
