    High Their,
I am not new to DE/SE shaving, but straights are a whole new ballgame. I have been reading/interested for about a year, and I had a straight piffed to me. I should be getting it in the mail tomorrow. I am so excited about doing my first cheek. I have a strop coming in the mail also. I would really like to master this "art" so I will be taking it slow. I would really like to avoid blood and destroyed strops.

    Welcome!

    Be sure to:

-Browse the "Library" ( Straight Razor Place Library - Straight Razor Place Library )
-Go slow. With everything. From shaving, to stropping, to acquiring gear (your mind will change about gear thousands of times...). Speed comes later.
    -When stuck, ask questions!
-Remember! A substantial part of the joy of straight shaving is slowing down to enjoy a little "Me-Time". Soon, it ceases to be a chore, and becomes a ritual you'll look forward to each time you can do it!

welcome and one more thing before you start get your razor honed by a pro ,, then your shaves will be more enjoyable, then its just about learning the technique, good luck tc oh and as mentioned the stropping, be easy and slpw, more razors dulled on the leather when starting out than any thing else
