My issue turned out to be not enough water. Though I got nice peaks and the consistency others had mentioned, I tried adding more and more water and really whipping it each time and the soap takes a lot more water then I imagined. Also had my first de shave today and approached what I've done thus far with straights, but it wasn't quite as satisfying. Good to finally eliminate my cartridge razor though...
