Thanked: 0Just starting out and hungry to learn
I would like to start off by saying thank you for SRP. A wealth of very useful information of which I have berely scratched the surface.
I finally took the plunge and bought my first straight razor. I did my first straight razor shave a few days ago and even though I had a few nicks and one cut I still enjoyed the experience. I strongly recommend watching Lynn's video on YouTube before your first shave.
I must admit I was worried what my face was going to look like after cutting myself after my second stroke but I quickly realized that I needed too slow down. My second shave resulted in no cuts or nicks at all and a great feeling of accomplishment.
I am quite excited about delving deeper into SRP and learning all I can about sharing with a straight razor.
Regards,
Alsodavid

welcome to the addiction
Seems like you are off to good start! Be sure and read up on the Wiki articles here Straight Razor Place Library - Straight Razor Place Library . There is a real good chance you will find the answer to your questions. If not, please speak up and ask. We have a LOT of very knowledgeable and generous people here.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Welcome to the forum! There is plenty here to learn and I have spent many sleepless nights learning some of it.
Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

Thanked: 228A good trick to remember is to give yourself a lot of time to shave. Maybe 45 minutes. The point is: don't rush! If you have lots of time to get the deed done, you won't rush! By the way, I am only around two weeks into SR shaving LOL. Haven't nicked myself in the last 4-5 shaves. I would call that an accomplishment LOL.
