Hi and welcome. There are a few guys from your way so local help may be available. Check out the library for all the starter info and the other basics of Sr shaving. Any questions feel free to ask. Good luck and I'm sure that the other boys will be along soon.

Hi,
You just missed a small local meetup yesterday But another won't be too far away hopefully.
There's plenty of helpful guys around. Im in West End, only new to honing, but have a few razors you can try if you haven't found your preference of style/type yet. It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

Welcome to the most friendly, helpful and informative site on the web!!
You will find members here of all different backgrounds, ages and occupations from all corners of the world and all with a quest for more knowledge about using and maintaining a straight razor!
If you take the time to search, 99.9% of your questions can be found in the Library (WIKI) however feel free to ask us about whatever it is that you are wondering about or having a problem with. It does help if you’ve done some research before hand so it narrows the problem down a bit.
While the land down under is rather large if I'm not mistaken you have a mate close by. mickR is in Brighton, Brisbane
QLD, Australia he's a good mate of mine, If you'd like, I'll make sure that he sees your post.
Hands on learning is the absolute best way there is. Sitting down with an experienced member for just a few hours will teach you more than months and months of reading and watching videos.
Again, a sincere welcome for across the Big Pond! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 52Welcome Jobr +1 to what the others have said especially the mentoring and meet-ups it's amazing how much help those are, if you can make one or the other(or both) do yourself a favor and attend. It can save you allot of frustration and shorten your learning curve. There is much to learn and it can all be very enjoyable.
