Thanks lostinhk! I appreciate the words of wisdom. I had a feeling that it may be hard to come by a mentor over in this area However, I thought I would try.

I am also on the same page as you with the honing, but hadn't thought about the bundled shipping. I am only going to start out working with a straight on the weekends as my mornings are early and hectic (3 yr old son). I know there are a lot of variables, but any guesses on how long a blade will keep with 1-2 shaves per week and proper stropping?

Also, any recommendations on honing stones from SRD?
