Thanked: 1San Francisco Newbie
Hey guys, I've been reading SRP for a couple months now since I got my Parker SR1 Shavette and have been shaving with it for about 3 months now. I decided to make the jump to straight razor and recently bought a J.S. Holler & Co. Germany - Adolph Blaich San Francisco - 5/8 Straight Razor & a Magnetic Cutlery Co. #55 straight razor from eBay. They are scheduled to arrive at my home on Thursday so I am pretty excited. What do you guys know about these straights? Happy to be a part of this community!

Maybe it's the pics but they look to have some edge issues. Someone may come along who sees it better , but your going to need to send them off to be corrected if I,m not wrong. Good luck. eBay shopping is for the experienced shaver Tc

Welcome! The magnetic looks pretty far gone and the holler has broken scales. If I were in you're shoes I'd get someone to pin the Holler blade in the magnetic scales and hone it up. Should make a good shaver.

Hi and welcome. The first one has a frown is honed into the stabilizer and looks like someone rounded out a square tip. 2nd blade looks decent just that piece out of the scales. I would go with Be Jays suggestion and sccap the first blade and use the scales. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
