Thanked: 39Do you find it easy to hone this way? I had a bear of a time setting a bevel on only one side and getting a good shaving edge.
I got good results from putting a bevel on both sides of the blade but when I pick up another microtome, I'll have a go with bevel setting on just the concave side - I'm really very fond of them!

A big warm welcome to you, good to have you. you might research that piece. If I remember right, they made alot of surgical services for cutting specimens but they can be made shavers just as well & when they do, they are great shavers as well. Look in our classifieds section & find a honemeister to hone it like Lynn or gssisxgun or omne of the others. Don't get me wrong they make great shavers if it isn't already. You have to excuse me for my typing & misspelling, my Macbook Pro went out on me the other day & after using it for a few years, Ihad to re-learn how to use this old Dell again, Apple is so different from Windows. It is like the difference from dial up & high speed internet. Good luck with your Microtome & iA hope it is already shave ready insted ofspecimen cutting.'Please feel free to ask any questions if you need to know something.
