Be welcome here! There are some shavers in your area so you won't be too lonesome!
Do a search in the little window above right of the threads below the word notations.. Use "Australia" and hit return/enter. If you use the magnifying glass you go out to the net not here on the SRP forum.
There is a lot of activity so try differing words along with Australia.
Check out our library and especially the getting started section!

Above all have fun! Great shaves come with time and experience. You chose what may be a really nice razor to start your shaving career. make haste slowly!

G'day welcome to SRP Renn,
there's a few lads in the Brissy area that may be close and able to give some face to face help.
I also think there is plans for another meet up in the area in the next couple of months, that would also be good if you can attend to get some helpful info first hand rather than just reading and watching all the great info here.
Check out the shavette forums may also help you along
It's all practice watch your edges and angles and enjoy the learning curve, as it take a while to get it all togetherSaved,
to shave another day.

Hi, Im Andrew, from West End. Where in Brissie are you?
Im no expert, but I'd be more than happy to catch up, you can try some different razors etc.
I also use Truefitt and hill, the ultimate comfort being my favourite but also have 1805. Can also lend you a straight if you have only used disposable blades.
The local meetups are great, nice people and they taught me heaps. It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

Hi renn,
There are quite a few threads on neck shaving, the hair there seems to grow in weird directions.
Firstly, have you mapped out how your neck hair grows? Let it get slightly stubbly and feel which way it grows, that will help you figure out which way is with the grain etc.
Secondly look up scything and guilotine strokes, theese will most likely help you.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Good call Ed!
Interactive beard growth chart here:
http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...wth-chart.html
Find the direction of a small area on your face and then put an arrow on that area. Print it out when done. It will change slightly after a while of straight shaving.
Above all have fun!
