    Default Evolving from Double Edge

I'm new here, and I just finished my 4th shavette shave. Thanks for the great resources and community of SRP!

I've been using a brush and soap for decades, and jumped into a safety razor 6 months ago. This past week, I got my hands on a Personna Monsieur Charles replaceable blade straight. This one uses Shick-type injector blades. I like it well enough, and I haven't nicked myself since my first try...even that was really minor.

Now, I'm shopping for a propper straight and strop.

Hi and welcome. Just make sure that you get a pro honed blade. Shave ready from factory is not usually actually shave ready. Any questions about equipment etc just ask as there are a few dodgy suppliers out there. Good luck

As a guy who uses shavettes rather often, I can't stress the Feather system enough. I prefer my straights, but when I travel and need a shavette, the Feathers are amazing. I also own a Parker and there is no comparison between the feather blades and the half DE of other shavettes. Feather is as close to a straight as you will get. Too close in fact - when I need a quick shave, that Feather is lethal.
