Thanked: 0Long time listener, first time caller...
Hello all, my names jake and I've recently decided to take up the art of the straight razor. I've been DE//wet shaving for a bit now, and consistently enjoy the BBS or DFS shaves I get. But alas the allure of the straight has grabbed ahold of me. After a ton of reading (and rereading) I decided to go with the whipped dog sight unseen deal (two actually just in case I screw one up) with a poor mans strop kit. I haven't actually gotten to shave with them yet, as they arrived today and I'm at work on a 24hr shift. I also purchased a wade and butcher 6/8 with a barbers notch that needs a little polish and a hone (but for the price I couldn't let it go). I look forward to learning how to hone, and restore myself eventually. Can't wait to start with the straights tomorrow...come on 6am!!!!

Thanked: 36welcome to SRP!
i've actually been away lurking at BB lately, but manage to come back here every now and then.
somewhat more mature crowd here, not talking about DEs and other miscellaneous things.
This is always such a great forum to browse through, and sometimes get a glimpse of some nice looking straights.

Welcome to SRP! Let us know how the straight is coming along.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
