Greetings from Southern California
Hello All. My name is John Paul. My interest in straight razors poked it's head out a few weeks ago and some research led me here. So far I have found a wealth of knowledge here and I am very glad I discovered this place before purchasing a blade. I was already set on a blade that was mentioned in the razors that should be avoided section of the beginners guide and I'm happy I didn't make that mistake.
Thanks to those of you who put this forum up and provided all of the information.

Welcome aboard! Glad to hear you avoided a pitfall with the razor. Look at the classifieds for a quality razor that wont break the bank Main Index - Straight Razor Place Classifieds. Another option is Larry at Whipped Dog (google it, easy to find). His razors aren't pretty, but they are well honed and cheap. Great place to start.
