    Default Howdy from Northern California

    Hello Gents,

I'm Andrew from Santa Cruz, CA- about 50 miles down the coast from San Francisco. A few months ago I got bitten from the wet shaving, and seem to be moving on to straights quickly. I've already learned a lot from lurking here, and -big nasty cut I gave myself this morning notwithstanding- can't wait to continue learning this skill.

    Cheers!

Hello Andrew, and welcome to SRP. Although I've been wet shaving for 52 years, I've only been using a straight for about seven months. Although there is a steep learning curve, after about three months everything seems to gel. There are many very knowledgeable people here who are willing to share their knowledge and provide support.

    Andy,

    Welcome to the forum!!

Enthusiasm, which you seem to have, is one of the great elements of straight razor shaving and leads to a boat load of fun and learning! Enjoy the journey, ask when in doubt, and above all......have fun!!

Welcome to SRP. I've been using a straight razor for about five months now. Cut myself two days running. Trying to hurry, of course!

Taking a break now, to heal and get back in the zone. LOL. It happens. Good luck and smooth shaves.
