Thanked: 0Hello from Texas
Hello friends. I am 29 years old and reside in Texas. I am an avid outdoors man, and family man. I began looking into straight razors about six months ago. I started by buying a shavett to see if I would like it and am now looking to graduate to the real thing. I am looking forward to getting some sound advice and learning from friends with much more experience. Any advice on which razor to start with will be greatly appreciated. Also where to get them. I do have a budget. Which I am afraid might be a problem from looking at some of the prices I have seen. Typically I am clean shaven except for the mutton chops. Thanks in advance.

A good start to know what questions to ask would be here:
Straight Razor Place Library - Straight Razor Place Library
Start with the beginner's Guide and on from there. Save your money for a while and understand the shaving requirements. Then look at Razor Brands to avoid.
And above all relax and enjoy the journey!

PS after a lot of reading contact a mentor near you or watch and find some one near to you with a good post record:

Hey Tater,
Welcome to the forum. What Geezer said!
Here's that link to razors to avoid.
Brands of Straight Razors to Avoid - Straight Razor Place Library
It might help to give a general location in Texas, similar to my mine, since there are a lot of fine members down there that might offer help.
Enjoy the forum!!
Best Regards,
Howard
