Greetings from Maryland.
Hello, I'm Glory from Maryland. I have been reading up on straight razors and "wet" shaving for sometime now, and I decided to make the jump from my mach 37 ultra lady leg shaver to a shavette (Parker) to begin with and most recently purchased a used Premier Professional X98 (not sure of all details, Made in Germany...this is a question for the forum at a later time) straight razor. I'm still awaiting a strop from my local barber and a good honing for the old lass.
I'm here to learn from the old heads, and young mature the art of straight razors in all its glory.

You are either a secretary by trade or this was a hell of a copy/paste into. Either way, I'm impressed, thanks.

Thank you for the welcome and myriad of information. I'm just catching up on reading in the forums. Quite a collection of knowledge, jargon etc.

I never heard of the straight razor you mentioned but Lynn, the owner & founder of this website is also part owner of Straight Razor Designs & they sell everything needed for shaving. The very first option to click on when you go to their site is things for the Ladies. If you ever do buy a new straight razor, they have some good deals plus Lynn personally hones each razor before it goes out & you also get a certificate for a free honing for when your straight needs it, usually around 3 months later. You can practice how to strop with an old wide belt & a butter knife just to get used to it. The stropping is the most important you really need to know as i mentioned in my first post. One bad stroke can dull an edge. Another thing which I probably mentioned is that you will eventually want to get a second straight razor for when you send one out to be honed. You're doing the right thing by researching everything you need to know.

As soon as the old lady lets me, I'll be buying a second razor and it'll be the first place I look. I'll try the butter knife/,belt practice.
