Saving and considering in TN
Locomotive Engineer near Memphis TN. Been wet shaving for a while with a DE and experimented with lots of soaps and such and looking at buying my first SE to further the experience of shaving. I'm looking at a Ralph Aust or a Boker. Probably the Aust account I really haven't read any bad reviews. Was going to get plastic scales for my first so I'll know the difference when I get better scales. The way I am with wet shaving, I know I'll be getting a lot more than just one. Ha
Ive enjoyed all the info I've read so far on here and look forward to learning more. Any suggestions that y'all can give is more than welcome.
Thanks

Hello and welcome to SRP
Lots of info available here in the library, just get to know the search option and you will be set for weeks of informative reading.
Both Boker and RA are excellent razors, you can't go wrong with either choice.
I enjoy my Ralf Aust razors as they are what I would call "substantial" not light weight especially the larger 6/8 and 7/8.
As your first I would recommend a 5/8 RA.

Cap,
Ralf Aust are excellent razors, I have 3. The Library and other resources have already been referenced, so here's a tip of the month for December, http://straightrazorpalace.com/begin...ml#post1429076 Also the FAQ link at the top of the page, just under the chat link is a good choice for reading.
Shooter74743, Scott, is one of our mentors and is also a locomotive engineer in southern Okla. and northern Texas. You probably have a lot in common. He's also a knife and razor maker.
Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy and profit from it. Holler if we can ever help!!
Best Regards,
Howard

Thank y'all for all the welcomes, info and links. Looks like there is a lot more to learn about SE shaving than DE. But I'll have a blast learning. Ha
Thanks again

Welcome! +1 for the Ralf Aust 5/8. I bought that and a kit that included everything you need from Straight Razor Designs. Also, there is a meet planned for next spring right in your neck of the woods. Should be a great opportunity to learn from the experts...
