My name is Jimmy, as you can see from my very fancy SN. I'm kinda new to straight shaving. I started out with a 1954 Gillette super speed and never looked back. Shaving with that came really quick. I have had a straight for about 4 months but have probably gotten about 10 shaves with it. But I have been using it more lately. I'm pretty slow with it, like 30 mins for a 2 pass shave. My blade is the ever famous beginner Dovo 5/8s. The only brush I have now is an Omega silver tip with the barber pole stripes on it. I think it has a bad knot. About 20 hairs come off of it when I use it. It's all in my soap also. I have also won some ebay sales where I restored a Boker Red Injun, but it's not shave ready. I'd like to send it out and have someone hone it up. Also just got an Otto Deutsch Hans coming to me for cheap money. The blade has a slight frown in it but I think it can be saved.
I really look forward to learning some great knowledge from this place, and I have learned a lot just poking around before actually registering.
