I was directed to your Forum from the BladeForums as a result of a general request for any information that would help me establish the provenance of a couple razors I recently acquired. Please help..Thanks..DEFGRAB..

Hi & welcome to SRP & a big thanks to BladeForums as well. It's a pleasure to have you here with us. There is plenty of information here & you might even search the database for any info on your razors:
Category:Straight Razor Database - Straight Razor Place Library
If you don't find any info there, then there are plenty of people here that can help you identify what you have.
It's hard to tell but if I read correctly, the second one might be Swedish if it says Heljestrand on it.Last edited by engine46; 01-08-2015 at 10:35 PM.

Engine,
the second razor says Charlescraft and Solingen on it, i don't know about the Charlescraft part but Solingen would make it german.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

I didn't get a good shot of the tang[s] on my uploads..[newguy] but I've gotten some good advice. I'm really interested in the A.B.Gustaf-Sandwall.. Jonkoping.
razor. I'm familiar with Solingen cutlery in general [actually bought large fabric shears there once upon a time] but would love to find out 'chapter and verse re these interesting razors.
I'd like to shave with the darn things but not if they are rare or collectable and deserve to be retired..??
Thanks for your response..d
