Hello from Massachusetts
Greetings, gentlemen! I've been lurking long enough and decided it's about time I showed my ugly face around here.
I started shaving with a straight razor a few months ago with a new Ralf Aust 5/8 perfectly honed by Lynn at SRD. One shave and I was hooked. That's when the RAD set in. I'm one of you now.
Today, I have a handful of razors in daily rotation:
- The aforementioned Ralf Aust
- A Carl Rob Schaaf "Remus" 5/8
- An Ern Crown and Sword
- A Joseph Fenton & Son "Real Hamburg Ring" 5/8+ (I think it used to be 11/16 or 6/8?)
Along with a few that I picked up that are waiting to be brought back to life with the various hones I've also acquired:
- A hollow ground Wade & Butcher
- A Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn #45
- A Dubl Duck Pearl Duck Satinwedge (that may be beyond salvation)
Not to mention a Taylor's The Eyewitness 1000 11/16 and a Rudolf Stehlo 7/8 that are slowly making their way to me via international post.
So, yeah -- I'm hooked.
I'm also happy to have found a community of fine gentlemen who, like me, enjoy the singular pleasure of holding a razor-sharp piece of steel to their throats every morning.
It's good to be here.

Welcome neighbor! Sounds like you have quite a collection already! I only have two, with a third on the way. Haven't caught RAD badly yet.
Regards,

Thanks, Dave. Although I wouldn't exactly call the blizzard "great" in any sense of the word. We get a big one like that every couple of years.
