Superspeeds are well made, fairly common, and don't command big bucks. Slim, Fatboy, and Aristocrat models usually are pricey unless you stumble across a deal. Any vintage Gillette, however, should be a good razor.

Ill post some pics in a couple of minutes.

Remember, in most cases for these types of items, the auction sometimes doesn't really begin and end till the last 5 seconds....

Also, to answer your can I find something cheap local question. Sally's beauty supply and similar usually have inexpensive Chinese TTO razors $6 - $10. My local Sally's also carries persona and wilkinson blades and Pinaud Clubman (talk about nostalgia) after shave.
If you buy a used DE at an antique store. The chrome plated razors clean up easy with toothpaste and a brush to remove soap scum and the remnants of rusty blades - chrome don't rust. The old brass ones take a bit more work.
You can disinfect them with Barbersol, Clippercide, Alcohol or other means. I soak my own razors in Listerine on occassion to keep them sanitary.

I don't think anyone will tell you what they are worth on the forum. It violates the rules.
    I'll PM you to discuss.

Hi John & welcome to SRP. Sorry I'm late to the party. I've had doctors appointments, physical therapy & such. You can find information here on DE razors & there are members here that use them so they can help you out with any questions you might have. You can also use the advanced search for DE razors & shaving. An adjustable De razor would most likely be right for you because most have 9 settings on them depending on the shave you want. I have a vintage Merkur & also a vintage Gillette Fatboy. I use them once in a great while but I mainly use a straight. If you shop around on eBay, you can sometimes find good deals on them but make sure you get one in good condition. How much are you willing to spend?
