Other polishes are autosol, mothers and blue magic. If you can't find it local sure you can on ebay. Try a member search for your country sure a couple will pop up.

Hey guy here are a few pics of a couple of second hand razors that I found on eBay and as I am indeed very new at this I'd just like the expert's opinion on whether or nor i should purchase them.
and the location research has indeed proven to be quite interesting, i will continue to explore it.

Appear to be in reasonable condition with minimal hone wear from what I can see in the pictures except can't see the edge well and there has obviously been rust cleaned from the blade.

Hi Jeremy & welcome to SRP. The polish they are trying to tell you about is called Maas Polish. You can find it on eBay as well if you don't have that locally. The razor I see above looks as if there might have at one time had some rust on it as was previously mentioned but it doesn't appear to have a lot of hone wear. If you know someone who can hone a razor correctly, let them hone it but if not, it would be best to send the razor's to someone who can hone it correctly so that you can see what shave ready really is. Like Tc said, you will need to learn to shave with a straight razor but you will also need a strop & most importantly need to know how to strop your razor before & after each shave. You can practice with an old wide leather belt & a butter knife. It is easy to cut a good strop with a sharp razor so learn to strop a razor. He also said you will need a brush, soap & a shaving mug or dish. There is a lot to learn here in the Library starting at the beginners guide:

Just start here & keep going. Study it well, it really isn't hard at all. You will get the closest, smoothest shave with a straight razor when it is honed & stropped right. You can watch Lynn Abrams shaving video on Youtube here:

Thanks man I have seen Lynn Abram's video quite a few times and i have already purchased a strop, brush, mug and soap.
A few people on the site told me that eBay really was not a place for a beginner to buy a razor but since I do not have many options, it seems I must resort to it.
The pics I posted of the razor were so that I could get an opinion on whether I should buy it (and then of course send it to a professional for a proper honing).
So far you guys seem to think that this razor seems alright and I will follow your advice and purchase it.
I basically wanted to know if the rust that has been removed makes the razor unusable because reading about it or having someone with experience tell you if it's okay or not does make quite the difference.
In any case I will try to win the bidding war and keep you guys updated.

You have, in Israel, one of our Mentors, manah. Look him up and PM him to see if you can meet with him for a one on one session. He also is a razor restorer and has excellent razors for sale.
