New guy from Long Island, NY
Hello All,
Thought I would post a quick introduction. My name is Kevin and I've been a DE wet shaver for about 8 years. For whatever reason, I really got the bug to try a straight. I'm waiting for my initial orders to come in before launching into this. What I've ordered is: Lynn Abrams Modular Paddle Strop (figured with no flex there was one less variable to stroping, the basic Norton 4k/8k stone, a Les Lat Corticule and two cheaper straights. One is a Whipped Dog Unseen and the other was from here, a 5/8 Geneva, both are shave ready. Thought it would be good to have two cheaper razors to practice with and make sure I can get the upkeep down. I also have Lynn's DVD and have watched that a few times. So we shall see how it goes, my plan for a few months down the road is that if I have gotten good at the upkeep and can hone OK, I would like to get myself a Ralf Aust.
So that's me and my plan, nice to meet you all. I'm sure I will have questions as I get further into it.
