Great advise from your SRP brothers.
We need pictures of your first straight razor in the "Ralf Aust Razor Club" thread.
He can also put it in the new club I started the other day.............."My First Straight Razor".

    Good luck!
    I definitely appreciate the offer!

I'm ordering all the gear through SRD, and am fortunate to have their Medina, OH shop within reach.

Still waiting on the razor, SRD 3" IV bridle strop, and a 22mm Thater badger silver brush. I have a couple Bigelow products that were a gift, but my skin is a bit touchy with the menthol... so jury is out on what soap to go with for my initial run.

In the meantime, been reading threads and watching Lynn's videos, absorbing all the excellent info I can to get started off on the right foot.

Wow, you are lucky to be near their store but you have to wait on the razor anyway since Lynn hones every one of them before the new owner gets it & he lives in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. You'll also have a free honing for later in the future when it needs it. You are even getting the strop I would have gone with. You've done good to be watching the video's & reading on the forum. It sounds like you're off to a great start! Congrats. If you need anything, just ask questions.

I took the convenient route this time... used online to order. I'm in and out this week, so won't have a chance to hit the local.

When I do get everything together, will be sure to post a pic or two!
