So I'm new here hence the title...the reason I joined today is that today I purchased my first straight razor...it was a flea market find...10.00 out the door.Name: 1425145697911.jpg

Welcome to SRP. Make sure to read the introduction material for new to straight razor shaving. One large word of advice. Take it very, very slowly so that you understand each step and stage required to reach a consistent and successful shave.

AND, you have found the currently most sought after razor, a Wade & Butcher. And a big one at that at a price that is making those that covet them weep audibly into their morning coffee! Believe me, they will be along presently. Hear that Phrank?

You are in Florida. Here are two members in FL that can give you a one on one intro to the art/craft of wet shaving.

    Hirlau (South Florida)
    Double0757 (South Florida)

Be sure to read and watch the many videos that will be referenced and postpone the desire to hone your own razor for at least 100 or more shaves. That's another world onto itself.

As being a bearded man the shaving won't be necessary. Was looking for information and possibly restoring tips ... one scale is chipped and splitting

Pity, they are great shavers. One of those two listed can still help you on info and scale replacement.

BTW, I had a beard for over 40 years. Needed a change and straights did it for me.

Congrats on your W&B "Bow" razor find. I have one just like it. They are great shavers.

I have one of those, does it have, "Keen Shaver" on one side of the tang underneath the Wade and Butcher stamp?
