Thanked: 1New guy in NJ
Hi all,
I've been using a DE razor for years and now waiting for delivery of my first straight razor. Looking forward to it, a little nervously. So I've been surfing the net looking for info and found this site.
There sure is a lot to learn. How to shave (what? i have to use my left hand?), how to maintain and the razor, and what I need for this venture, both now and in the long run. I'm sure I'll have questions, and hope to be able to show others when I find something that works...or doesn't.
Thanks in advance!

Thanked: 2I'm another DE shaver now waiting for his first straight to arrive. This seems like a friendly and helpful place! I share your nervousness, but also excitement. It'll be interesting to see how a cohort of us newbies progress together.

Thanked: 10Welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place. You have started in the right direction by reading the info on this site. Be sure to read over the tutorials available and watch the various videos to help learn different techniques. When ready to start shaving with your new ( hopefully shave ready) straight remember to take it slow and easy, speed and proficiency will come with time. Have fun learning and enjoy the experience.
