Thanked: 12Hello from South San Diego, County California
Hello and good morning.
I have been shaving with a DE Razor most of my life. Then I quit shaving grew a beard, started using disposable razors. (Can we all say that gets and is expensive?) Any way many years ago my Uncle taught me how to shave with a Straight Razor. I have not used one in many years. Any way when my Aunt died I was given my Uncles Straight Razors, and his Shaving Brushes. I need to re-furbish them. I have several Shaving Brushes of my own. I have one From Larry @ Whipped Dog. A couple from Van der Hagen (that came with my mug sets) I have one that a friend made for me Oscar 11, and I have one that my friend made the Handle and put in the knot, Oscar11-Old Corps.
Top to Bottom: WD Brush, Oscar 11 Brush, Oscar11-Old Corps Brush.
I will take a couple of pictures of my Straight Razors and post them soon.Last edited by PatrickA51; 03-12-2015 at 05:43 PM.

Welcome to the forum, save money compared to disposables--good luck. But all that you buy, you will always have. Have fun and most importantly enjoy the shave.

Welcome to the SRP Forum!
Nice collection of brushes, BTW. Hopefully, you are not headed for brush addiction (BAD). There are several more addictions to steer clear of on this Forum. Razor addiction (RAD) and hone addiction (HAD), to name a few.Regards;
Lex

Hi & welcome to the forum. There's a wealth of information to learn on here so just browse around & click on anything you can click on & you will be amazed at what you can find! You will most importantly need a strop & know how to use it since you will need to strop your razor before & after each use. You can practice with a butter knife so that you don't cut your strop by accident but most of us have done it so all you need to do is to sand it out or glue it back down with CA (superglue) or rubber cement. BTW, here's a link to Lynn's Youtube video's:

If you have any questions, just ask on he forum or feel free to pm me & I'll be more than happy to help you out in any way I can.
Good luck!
