Default New Guy from Sunny Southern California

Greetings everyone. My name is Steve and I am an al...... Oop's...wrong group!

Hi there everyone my name is Steve and I am from southern California. I have been a wet shaver for several years and a member of some of the other forums related to DE/SE razor shaving. As with most guys I am gung ho for a few months then I find another hobby to chase, and annoy wife, before coming back to this wonderful pastime!

I decided this foray into shaving needed to add straight razors so here I am! I have a Double Duck Gold Edge awaiting honing and minor restoration and a Filarmonica 14 that as far as I can tell only needs some honing and stropping. The Filly was a gift from one of the civilians at my agency.

I know threads are worthless without photos so I will attach those here:
DD was a $20.00 garage sale find

Thank you in advance for your tips and knowledge and friendship.

    Steve

Welcome, TheFive0. A lot to learn and appreciate on this forum. Below is a list of SRP Senior Members and Mentors that are available in your area. They meet often in small groups to go over things of interest to the wet shaver. Also, they are available for a series of one on one meetings to help you over the beginning stages of straight razor shaving:

    Euclid440 (Diamond Bar)
    10pups (Orange)
    RoyalCake (Torrance)
    Voidmonster (Oceanside)

At least, I think they are in your area. Contact Euclid440 via a PM for more information.

Welcome Steve, and seriously you will kick yourself if you don't make it to get together Marty (Euclid440) mentioned.

You'll meet some great people, and learn a little about straight razors while you are at it.
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

I am honestly trying to figure out if I can make it. I work graveyard (6PM to 6AM) the preceding, and the night of, the event so I am having to see if I can get a co-worker to trade shifts. It looks like a TOTAL blast!!!
