Thanked: 1New guy fron AZ
I've been ghosting the forums for awhile now and decided to finally join after picking up my first straight yesterday. It's going to get a little restoration work so the forum will definitely come in handy.

Make sure you get with someone about honing it for you. Not a knife shop. Someone who uses one. That will give you the best shot at getting to a great shave and start practicing your stropping now, it's the most important thing for maintaining a great edge, use the library almost every question you have is addressed i there. Good luck. Tc

Thanked: 4826Welcome. As TC said the honing is of paramount importance. If you want a great shave you need a great edge.

Thanked: 12Welcome to SRP! If you haven't already, browse through the vendors and members here. There are a few that do the restoration thing, and do it well.
