New guy in the Rockies
Hello to everyone. Glad to join the site and gain some more knowledge as I learn. I've been shaving with a safety razor for a couple of years and just started with a straight about 4 months ago. I'm surprised at how many layers there are to straight razor shaving, thought I'd get a razor and be done but that isn't turning out to be the case.

I'm in Wyoming. Yes, the RAD the has got me. I started with a Boker King Cutter, had Joe Edson restore a family heirloom pre-1890 Wade and Butcher for me, and then bought a Hart 6/8 square point. Now I'm currently looking at a T.I. or a Wacker. I have a Merkur 34C and love my Edwin Jagger safety razor.
I bought a Naniwa 12K super stone and should get my cheap practice razor next week. My present goal is to be able to "tune up" my razors up as needed and then eventually progress to full honing skills.Allen

Boy ain't that true!?! I figured a razor, stone and strop along with my brush and soap. Bo one warned me about restoration and buffers and pastes and balsa strops and fixing blades and the list goes on. Of course it's not all really necessary but there is a lot of corners to explore in this hobby which keeps it interesting and challenging. Welcome :-)
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
