    thanks! I am three shaves in with the straight. Two of the shaves were great, the other one was my fault. Getting the feel for stropping this kind of edge, it's different than other blades I have touched up. Just got some stones today for maintaining the edge, an 8k, 12k, and 15k as graded by the gentleman who collected, cut and lapped the stones in Wales.

    I named 4 guys in your area. There are many more in KC. In this forum, Member Introductions, there is a sticky about how to find guys in your area. Take a look at it and use it. There is also a forum here called "Get Togethers".
    It is down toward the bottom of the forums list. Pick out the ones in KC area. There have been several .....

    Those stones will be fine for maintaining a properly honed razor, but will not be adequate for sharpening a dull razor. Also, as these are natural hones, the grit ratings are only informative as to which is more or less coarse relative to each other.
