Thanked: 3795Let me know if I can help with any of those!
Hi Leo.
I'm located in Rochester. Let me know if you ever come over my way and I can help you out as well.
Have you thought about what kind of razor and strop that you want?
Also, if you are already wet shaving, are you using shaving soap and a brush?

Thanked: 220Hello from Minnesota
Funny thing is that the DE looked intimidating to me when I started. After I mastered that, the straight didn't look so bad!

Wow, Randy and Utopian I'd like to take you up on your help! I'll send you PMs after work! I'm in Mankato so I'm not far from either of ya.
I use mostly tallow based soaps, MWF, Mike's Natural Soaps, Cold River to name a few. I have two boar, one badger and one synthetic brush. I mostly shave with vintage Gillette's. I'm not sure what I'm looking for in regards to a straight razor and strop. I'm a total newbie and not sure where to turn. Thank you so much all of you!Last edited by LeoK; 05-01-2015 at 02:39 AM.

Thanked: 3795Leo, I need to make a trip to Mankato some time in the next month. If we can arrange a time to meet, I can bring some razors and strops for you to get some ideas. Of course, if you can make it to the MN meet-up next month, that will give you a lot more to consider.
