    Default New Guy here

Just registered. Mostly a DE guy but I have a couple of nice antique straights. Either gonna master the process or sell them.
    Thanks all
When do I learn the secret handshake?

Welcome. Start practicing face-strokes and stropping with a butterknife. Walk a 10-foot tightrope, turn three circles and throw salt in your eyes. Voila. You're in.

Forgot about the acid bath and fire walking a marathon to earn the handshake

Welcome to the sport. Just watch the videos on you tube and practice when you can. remember it's not a race but something done for enjoyment. the guys here are more than willing to give free of charge advice that has taken years and if I may say decades of experience obtaining. as stated earlier I also doubt you selling the razors I don't doubt you being infected with RAD. it gets us all. I stay sad glad and confused most of the time. welcome to our world.

Hi and welcome. Coming from using de's is shouldn't be a hard transition. You will have it before you know it. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

Thanks for the welcome! I gave up the evil disposable cartridges years ago and went to an Edwin Jagger DE and brush and lather. I picked up 2 straights at an antique auction. A lady bought a box full of stuff including some new old blades in a box and I gave her $20 and she let me have my choice of 2. Got a Wade and Butcher Original Bow razor NIB and a unknown Solingen blade marked San Diego Supply Co. Looking forward to learning more!

    Welcome to SRP, Kingcreek!
It sounds like you got a deal on the razors at the auction. I'm sure everyone would like to see pictures.

Welcome! I'm a newbie around here too; I've been using a DE for a little more than a year and just had my first straight shave this morning. It was a little easier than I expected, I think you'll be fine. Good luck!
