Welcome Murf. I've been using DE's for a while and an Injector back in the day. Straights for a little over 10 months, but recently discovered Single Edge razors and a new AD.
Curious, what's your SE tools? I'm continually impressed with the shave from my Micromatics and a Gem 1912 I picked up today.

Hey Stove. I have a few Gems which include a Damaskeene, a couple more 1912s, and a Junior Bar Lather Catcher from 1907-1909. That ones a lot of fun. My favorite though, is a Wilkinson Sword Empire 7 Day. It's an autostrop razor that comes with 7 individual hollow ground wedge blades. I was lucky enough to find a complete set with all the blades in decent shape. I honed them all and they are very shavable. I was using that razor a lot until I started using my straight a couple weeks ago.

Those sound awesome. Have to agree, straight shaves are very enjoyable but as far as the quality of the shave it is hard to beat these old SE razors. I have a couple Micromatics, autostrops and just picked up a GEM 1912. First shave with the 1912 was this morning and it did an excellent job. Love them all with the Autostrops being a possible exception. Gonna look up the Wilkinson kit.

You can get a good shave out of the Wilkinson, but you need to get blades that are in decent shape and hone them to make them shave ready. Good blades can be hard to find.

Here is what it looks like:

And here are a couple shots of my favorite Gem. The Junior Bar "Lather Catcher" which was made from 1907-1909:

The nicest thing with the Wilki is the adjustable blade exposure. My shaves improved drastically after a small adjustment showing more blade!
