Thanked: 1Barber's Son From Boston
Hello all. I've always been a collector of things but never blades until now.
My father came from Sicily and was a barber in the late 50's to early 60's.
When the Beatles came to the USA and grew their hair long everyone followed suite
so he had to stop cutting hair and instead work in factories. For that reason he hated the Beatles until the day he died in 1999!
I've had his barbers bag since he died and have gone through it before but I'm just now getting to cleaning it all up.
I am going to frame the good stuff along with pictures in one of those deep collectibles frames.
I figured I'd register so I could post up some pics of his old gear.
I've polished it all up a bit with the same things I use to maintain my firearms and they look much better.
The edges need some work but I think only one is beyond repair due to a bend. Maybe even that can be repaired if I have enough meet to work with.
I'll be looking through your individual forums to learn about blades and how to maintain and repair them.
I'll post the pics in the appropriate forum.
Thanks and take care!

Thanked: 1To be honest I hate shaving and also shave my head so I use a Panasonic electric razor (best ever) to get it done as quickly as possible. I'm one of those guys who always has a few days growth on his face and head. I have a thin beard and very sensitive face so it's not a good feeling for me. Perhaps I'll do as someone suggested and have a barber do a professional job on my face and head some time just for the experience. I'll probably bleed to death if I try it on my own!
I posted a link to the photos in the show and tell forum. I'm trying to post closeups of the blades but having technical difficulties with email on my phone. Will have them up later.
