Thanked: 0Hello from New Hampshire...
Greetings everyone...
I have always been watching with great interest, the trends in shaving. I'm self taught, so am hoping to learn lots here. I have gone the full gambit, of having a mustache in my younger years, to having a short cropped beard, and then having a full beard and mustache, which earned me the nickname of "Mountain Man".
Time, and personal circumstances have changed for me. The beard went back to a cropped whisker beard, and shorter hair. Then I started using a DE blade. Shortly after starting that, I took away the beard, and LOTS of people noticed. My mustache, was the next to go, as the grey hairs above my lip, were not all that acceptable to me, or some friends, and they suggested I remove those next.
Well, being clean shaven, and enjoying wet shaving immensely. My next step was a straight. Did some research, and finally decided on a NTS Solingen Stainless. Also got a strop, and the pastes for it.
Hopefully I will learn lots here, and have many questions....Thanks in advance for the opinions and to those that take the time to answer..
Brian

Hi and welcome. If you only have 1 strop don't paste it as you need a clean unpasted strop for daily use. Any questions feel free to ask there are plenty of helpful folks here willing to help
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

+1 on the Strop Caution... Though, if you have Leather and a Secondary Material you could Paste inside where the two materials touch giving you a Pasted, Leather and Clean Secondary Material option.
Welcome to SRP!! Your DE Skills will come in handy; especially the Light Touch.
Enjoy and best of luck!

Welcome to the forum. As eddy79 said, don't paste your strop. Keep it clean, non contaminated. If it was only a cheapish, beginners strop, get a second one to paste. Good luck.
