    Default Hey from England

Hi! Recently started straight razor shaving after using a double-edge for a but. I'm stationed overseas, RAF Lakenheath in case anyone was wondering. Originally from Hawaii so I cam relate to anyone from there too. Currently using Mr. Fine 20mm synthetic, F. Herder #1, and lots of soaps (the SAD hit hard).

I forgot to include a little about what has led me here so here it goes... I'm about 26, I've got 4 kids, 2 sets of identical twin boys, and razors are expensive. I had heard that it was cheaper to use a DE and that held true till I discovered the wonder of soaps. I wouldn't say it's cheaper now, but instead of hating shaving before work I now look forward to it. Being in the military I don't get to not shave so... Now I have a morning ritual to look forward to every morning. Then I found straight razors. Now I have to really resist the urge to buy more all the time. Done well so far. Just my Herder and my Greaves. So I've got that going for me.
I think that's about it. Feel free to ask questions, glad to be here!

I'd welcome you but I'm completely green at this myself. In fact, it sounds like you're a few steps ahead of me. I've bought the razor and strop but that's it...

Two sets of twin boys? Eesh! You're one short of a five-a-side team!

Welcome to the club! Glad to hear things are going well for you in your shaving journey. I have one set of twins and got snipped, can't imagine what two sets would be like....

Let us know how things progress. If you are looking for people to try and moderate your buying urges you are probably in the wrong place
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Razor and strop is where the magic starts! Soon you'll be lamenting your lack of space for all your shaving stuff... And I'm going for the five-a-side! Haha and I seriously considered getting cut but... Now I can't imagine life with just the one set! It seems we manage more with both than just the one
