Welcome, you may have found a good place to do so. Start with the for beginners section.

Thank you, I want to make soap for shaving, do you have any preference as to what ingredients you prefer? That is if you use soap. and the scent you like best. Any info will be appreciated.

    Well, Vee.
There are about twenty to fifty some odd folks ahead of you and more every day; everyone wants to make a million bucks. If for yourself, pick what you want and go from there. You may find materials at a craft store. It is a lot harder to make a good shave soap than one would think!
    Google "home made soaps"

I don't necessarily want to make a million per say...I just want to make a good product that works. I love making stuff but I want it to be a good product. I plan on selling at a craft show here in WV. I would love to send some to our guys in the military as well.

Welcome to SRP Vee. This new member is great! He sent me a friend request before I even knew he was a new member.
Like Richard said, start in the Beginner's Guide & work from there. I would like to learn how to make my own soap also but there is a lot of things to learn about it, I've checked & still looking into it. You can also start looking here:

    Good luck my friend.

Check into Black soap. I love the stuff as a preshave wash. Do not bother with the little boxed soaps. Look for big blocks. They are usually much better and cost effective.
