Thanked: 0Wow, this is the most friendly welcome I ever had on any forum. =) Feeling warm inside =)
I was a electric / wilkonson cartridge shaver. The electrical shavers I found useless. I cannot shave my beard short enough. And the Wilkonson cartridges are soooo expensive. I do like them as they shave so smooth. So after many years, and because of my low income I started thinking what I could do. I am , to be honest, thinking too easy about straight razors, was thinking it was as fast as Wilkonson cartridge shavers. That changed as I was trying my new Dovo RVS straight razor. I was soo slow. =). After that I also bought a much cheaper butterfly classic shaver from parkinson with those double blades. Bought 100 double blades (Derby) for about 13 euro. What a PRIZE.
Why did I not find these shavers sooner! (not everything old is useless, some old things in live mix very well with the new, creating a good blend)
Planning to use my straight razor more and more. But I find the most difficult part to shave is above my mouth and under my chin / neck.
But since my new job starts at 9:00 o clock I have more than enough time to shave (straight razor )myself in the morning. Any part I cannot do yet I will finish with my Parkinson double edge.
Never going back to those expensive shave cartridges!
Thanks again. May I become as good as you all. Thumbs up!

You're fortunate to live pretty close to Solingen. If I was you, I'd be planning a visit to Revisor or Boker to pick up a nice blade. Keep practicing with the straight. It'll get better and you'll soon get the hang of your chin and neck area. Good luck.
