Thanked: 14Not so new newbie
Hello everyone, Jeff Logan here from Colorado where I just attended the 6th annual meetup put on by Glen and Victor. What an amazing experience. If you can ever attend I encourage you to do so.
This is my first official post it seems. I've been on the FB group for over a year now and have posted many times there but I guess they don't coincide here. So I guess that's where I am a newbie again.
I'm looking forward to learning a lot here and just having a damn good time because that's what this is all about. I'm sure like most, I used to hate to shave, now I enjoy it and look forward to it.
In the almost 2 years that I've been doing I have gone balls to the wall in all avenues of wet shaving. I collect and restore brushes, DE razors and straight razors. Now I'm getting into honing to its on to stones as well. Seems I'm collecting soaps now too. Haha.
I really have an old buddy to thank for this obsession ( hobby ) Shawn Cadwell. I saw a few of his posts on FB and inquired one day and that was the end of it. He was so helpful and knowledgeable he made it easy to want to get into.
Well I better go before this gets any longer. I'll do my best to try and be a positive member in this group. Thanks for having me.

Thanks for the shout-out Jeff and right back atcha... Helping other people get started is somewhat vampiric as I then get to feed off of your energy and excitement and round and round she goes!!
Really glad you have enjoyed Wet Shaving so it is a "How cool/I'm so sorry..." kinda thing!
You did forget to mention that you have taken a huge step many don't take by making Strops!!! And, you know the rule...
No pics= Didn't happen!

Great work and great looking Strops!! Is that a secondary material or raw leather on the back?

Thanked: 14Thanks Shawn. I made several different types until I settled on this one. I'm pretty happy with the results. I left the back raw in order to refresh with conditioner or even to add a paste if so desired.
