Thanked: 0Hi from Wisconsin
Just thought I'd say hi to everyone! I just started wet shaving with a DE two weeks ago, and enjoying the hell out of it... Although it does have me thinking about going full ahead and trying a straight lol
Other than that, I enjoy playing guitar

Thanked: 56Welcome!
I switched to a DE from cartridges as well. The learning curve there helped make the transition to straight razors easier. Once you can build a good lather, shave without nicks and burn and have the technique down (maintaining an angle and a light touch, especially), go for straights. But it is certainly easier to learn these things with a more forgiving razor like a DE. Even though I used Feather blades in my DE with no burn or issues, when I switched to straights (3 or 4 weeks ago), I had to further refine my technique. I think jumping into straights too soon could be discouraging, and I'd hate to see that; it really is a wonderful way to shave. I've gone from seeing shaving as a chore to looking forward to my shave each day.

Thanked: 315Welcome to the forum. I'm still use my DE most of the time. When you start using a Straight, don't try doing a full shave the first time.

Hi and welcome. Any questions feel free to ask. Start with a straight as soon as you like. You just do a bit then finish with the de. Many of us go straight from cart to straights and yes there is a learning curve but go slow and light and its not as daunting as you think it will be. Good luck with your shaves and any questions feel free to ask
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Hi & welcome to SRP. Sorry I'm late for the party, I check back from time to time many times a day. Usually best to start in the Library in the Beginners Guide & go from there.

Good luck my friend.
