Thanked: 1Hello from Tucson
Just wanted to say Howdy. Got all my straight razor hardware from SRD.Did not want to waste too much time with DE shaving. I am recently retired and thought now would be a good time to pick up a new hobby. Was having problems with lather not being slick enough so I tried making lather with distilled water as recommended by Leisure Guy. Holy roller skates what a difference!
Totally stoked and ready to get my shave on (GFB). Will be concentrating on technique in the foreseeable future, however long that takes, with an eye on honing somewhere down the road. Thank you to everyone for all of your advice and sharing of knowledge. Glad to be a part of such an eclectic and enthused group of individuals.

Welcome
Here's hoping once you get the knack of it you don't spend the rest of your day waiting for your next shave.

Thanked: 6Welcome! I grew up in Tucson. Went to sahuaro high and UA. I haven't lived there in 20 years but I recall the water being on the hard side so the distilled water is probably a good idea. And this time of year cold water shaving might be a good idea
