    Default Hello from WV .

I have been shaving with straights for about a year and I am enthralled with the thought that the same blade I now shave with was used by others nearly 150 years ago. How cool is that ? Hopefully I can improve the experience by picking the brains of the veterans of this forum. Thanks in advance! First post by the way.

Welcome wvuhillbilly. You are going to have fun picking all the brains available on SRP. Lets start off by telling us what gear you have (with pics please) and any concerns or problems you might be having at this time. We sure do love to give out our opinions.

Honestly, I cannot think of anything better to add to what Razorfeld has already stated.

Being able to shave with a non-disposable razor that you are entirely responsible for its performance may seem like a trivial thing, but since you are here you may recognize that it can be a pretty awesome thing!

You have three excellent razors. How did you acquire them? Did you have them professionally honed? What soaps/creams are you using? Aftershave balms or tonics? Face lather or scuttle. Cold water or hot water shave? Any shaving problems? Sensitive to products and/or sensitive skin?

We are always curious about every bodies shaving habits. Half to see what your shaving style is and the other half to want to make suggestions based on their preferences. You will also find that there is a funny, erudite group among us, as well as the absolute serious. And all steps between. I do hope you have read the rules of conduct for the forum. We are active in making sure it is a family friendly, troll free and contentious free forum. Ask a lot of questions. There is hardly a soul here that doesn't have an answer.

Very nice razors. Maybe we should be picking your brain! In any case there is a lot of knowledge and experience here. We look forward to you input. Welcome!

Yup, those are three very nice razors. It looks like you started off very well without us.
