Hey, from Georgia !
Mike, checking in. Completely new to the world of straight razor shaving. My razor ( Thiers ) arrived yesterday. Going to be a long learning curve, I guess, but even at 63 it's gonna be fun. Watched my dad for years so, reckon I'm switching over .

Hey, Mike! Welcome to Straight Razor Place.
In case you havent seen it the library here at SRP has a Beginners Guide that will help shorten the learning curve. This video is also a great learning tool.
Good luck!

Hi & welcome to SRP. I hope you got a strop when you got that nice TI. You must strop it before each shave but many strop it before & after each shave. By switching, you will notice a much closer & smoother shave when one is honed & stropped right, plus it's much more enjoyable IMO. If you subscribe to Lynn's YouTube video's, you will be able to see all of them, which cover a little of everything. You have a stretch of road to go but you will enjoy the ride. If you have any questions just ask.
Good to have you here & good luck my friend!
