Good looking haul for $3. If you want to identify the scales as to the types of material you can take a hot needle to an inconspicuous spot, usually inside the scales, and see if first it melts or not and then what does it smell like. Plastic or Bakelite will melt and smell of oil, bone and ivory do not melt and bone has a sweat odor to it. Three of those look salvageable and the third with the broken toe can be saved but with a lot more work involved.

Yep, for $3 you can't go wrong................
Does the covered tang one have any markings? The Oxford should clean up & hone to be a decent shaver. Looks like the blade is a Koch Faultless which would make a good shaver when you put some scales on it. The one with the broken blade can make a shorty.

Thanked: 4207Welcome aboard HurleySG.
A nice couple of blades to dabble with for sure. I have an Oxford Extra Hollow that I quite like. Should clean up with little effort, but send it off for a professionals honing before learning yourself. Worth taking your time to learn all you can from the seasoned pro's in your neighbourhood.
Have fun.

Wish I could find that from 3 dollars. Can always start cleaning the broken blade to get a feel for it before working on the rest.
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanked: 0I have not found any markings on the one with the covered tang but I'm hoping that cleaning it up a bit might reveal something. I have done some cleaning on the Faultless and it looks pretty good other than being very dull. Where would be a good place to get some scales for it?

Thanked: 4207From Tx, you have a number of close by experts and Mentor's to lean on and learn from.
Some have replied to your intro I believe.
