I was thinking about having it honed, but there's no way i would do it. I'm sure there are many local places, will need to do some more research!

Hi and welcome. Shave ready from the factory is usually sub par and local places are usually knife shops who destroy razors. Check the classifieds here or check for mentors in your area. Good luck with your shaves and any questions feel free to ask
Welcome to the forum. It seems to me that there is a razor shop in Tucson that does honing. The owner is a member here. It could be a good place to start. There are quite a few AZ members and if you can get a little one on one time with an experienced member it would be great.
I agree! Trying to figure all of this out on my own is a bit overwhelming, as I'm sure most here can relate to

That's true. I might need to do that. I was looking through the classifieds that Rezdog and Eddy referee me to. I got myself pretty good last night. I'm sure mostly because noob, but the blade might not have helped me. It doesn't cut the free standing hairs on my arm, if that means anything
